SCOTT L. ROBERTS

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Scott L. Roberts has over 30 years’ experience in the communications industry and has served on the Board of Directors of a number of privately and publicly held companies.

​

He was on the team which started and managed CapRock Communications and CapRock Services (CPRK-Nasdaq), a leading facilities-based integrated communications service provider to small and medium-sized business in the Southwestern United States, and global communications carrier customers. He served on the Board of Directors and as Executive Vice President. CapRock Communications offered an integrated bundle of communications products and services including local exchange, domestic and international long distance, enhanced voice, data, Internet and dedicated private line services. CapRock Services focused on the deployment of broadband and wireless solutions in remote destinations, providing solutions to oil and gas, maritime and military related projects. Scott also actively participated in the acquisition/merger of CapRock with IWL Communications Inc., raising $450 million through Caprock’s public offering.

Mr. Roberts was also co-founder of NovoLink Communications and previously served on their Executive Management Team and Board of Directors. NovoLink focuses on providing a full suite of robust cloud communications solutions for business, service providers and carriers. Prior to that, he founded Synergy Telecommunications. Synergy served as a sales arm for a large Fiber COOP, comprised of Independent Telephone Network Operators.  Previously, Mr. Roberts was a Sales executive at Sprint Corporation ("Sprint"), and Qwest Communications International Inc. ("Qwest").

ELENA C. MOLA

MANAGING DIRECTOR
 

Elena C. Mola is a Senior Executive and Corporate Attorney with over 30 years’ experience working with Fortune 500 corporations, large national and international financial institutions, and governments on transactions involving the development and financing of Energy, Communications, Transportation and Financial Technology projects throughout the United States, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

She serves and has served as Senior Executive, Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of publicly and privately held energy development, production and distribution companies, as well as mobile communications and financial technology companies focusing on solutions for businesses, governments, and international organizations related to the deployment of efficient real-time secure technology solutions for, among other things, transparent payments and tax/fee collection and administration systems, mobile money and financial inclusion, the deployment, connection, and monitoring of IoT devices in health, manufacturing, agriculture,  and natural resources sectors. Ms. Mola also served as Vice President for Business Development at Consolidated Natural Gas/Dominion Resources responsible for all aspects of technical evaluation, mergers/acquisitions, development and management (financial/legal) of CNG’s Latin American electric and natural gas assets worth over US$ 2Billion.

She practiced law in the Project Finance/Energy Department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, one of the largest US-based international law firms, where she concentrated on limited-recourse structured-finance transactions and contract negotiations of energy and infrastructure projects with an aggregate closing value of over US$5 Billion. Her legal work involved representing financial institutions and multinational corporations in connection with a variety of transactions including privatizations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and financings of hydroelectric, gas and fuel-fired generation plants, barge-mounted generation plants, gas and liquids pipelines, mining and refining operations, water desalination plants, wastewater recycling facilities, toll-roads, telecommunications networks, direct-broadcast satellites, and electronic surveillance technologies.

Ms. Mola serves on the Advisory Board of the International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) (Aspen, CO.). She served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Council of the Americas (New York, N.Y.), as a Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (Washington, D.C.). Ms. Mola also served as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Graduate School where she taught International Infrastructure Finance & Development.

Ms. Mola holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD) and a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) degree from Georgetown University where she received the American Jurisprudence Award for Academic Excellence in Law & Technology and Distinction in School of Foreign Service Comprehensive Oral Examination. Additionally, she holds a Masters of Public Administration/Finance & Budgeting (MPA) degree from the School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University (Phi Alpha, National Honor Society for Public Administration). She received her B.A. from Mercer University where she completed three majors in Economics, Political Science and Philosophy and received the Baggot Award for Academic Excellence & Leadership.
